The fairy-tale of Chievo Soccer Team

The Chievo football club came into being 80 years ago, founded by the Chievo locals.
It played exclusively in amateur championships until 1980 when Paluani decided to link its name to Chievo, partly in the hope of saving the club, mostly out of enthusiasm.
Round about 1990 Paluani came up with the unlikely idea of trying to take Chievo up to Serie C2.
And we did it! Then we had another unlikely idea and managed to take Chievo up to C1. Amazingly we went from C1 to Serie B and then in 2001 we were finally promoted to Serie A.

I was lucky to arrive during Chievo’s golden period, the year of its promotion to Serie A. I was lucky to share Chievo’s best years, when our dream came true and we finally reached the top. I’m still having a great time here and I hope to continue doing so for many years.

I reckon that year was the best year in our team’s history. It was a phenomenal event because it was the first time that such a small club had ever got to the top tier of Italian football. Not only that, we reached the top of the league and stayed there for over a month.

The reason I’ve spent so many years with Chievo is because I love it here: it is a fantastic environment, a down-to-earth, quiet place where you are free to do things the right way and show what you are capable of doing.

Chievo is basically about passion, a passion for discovering new talent and finding and giving a boost to talent that has lost its way.
Chievo is all about passion because if we weren’t passionate about what we do we wouldn’t travel all around Italy to train over two thousand children in football schools where the only thing that matters is the game of football.
Passion is the driving force behind Chievo. Without it we couldn’t make the sacrifices that we do; just like Paluani, a company whose reason for being is to put passion into every single product.

The President gives us a lot of passion because he is very fond of all of us and his belief in us brings out the best in us.
We are a team that gives a lot and gets a lot from a supportive company that leaves us free to do our best.

Chievo’s winning recipe is the only recipe that we know. We learnt it by observing Paluani’s experience. It is about loving everything you do, every day, always being straight with people and above all respecting the rules which is vital if you want to be considered a football club above suspicion.
For Chievo fair play and respect for our fans comes first. In fact, for eight years in a row we have won the Italian football league’s Fair Play cup for the club with the best-behaved fans

Greetings to our friends of Paluani.TV. We’re looking forward to seeing you on the pitch. Ciao to you all!
